About this Event
Come join us for the Second Annual Disability Awareness Walk & Roll hosted by Chesapeake Public Schools Office of Special Education & the Special Education Advisory Committee! This is an inclusive event to support people with disabilities and celebrate our differences! All ages are welcome to attend!
• One mile walk (or roll)
• Community Resource Fair
• Themed Art Display
• Fun Activities for kids
• Food trucks will be onsite offering food items for purchase!
How much is it? It’s FREE!! Bring the whole family! T-shirts will be available to purchase at the event.
What time does it start? Registration opens at 10:00. The walk and roll is scheduled to begin at 11:00.
What ages can participate? All ages are welcome!
Where is it? Hickory High School Stadium
What is included? A one mile fun run/walk/roll, community resource fair, and lots of family fun!
Can I buy a T-shirts? T-shirts will be sold at the event.
What types of vendors will be present? A variety of community agencies serving students and adults with disabilities will be present.
What types of activities are there for kids? In addition to the run/walk/roll, there will be carnival-type games hosted by our high school clubs, mascot games and a DJ!
What type of food is available? A variety of food is available for purchase from various food trucks and vendors.
Are bicycles allowed? No, unfortunately, due to safety concerns of fellow walkers and rollers, bicycles are not permitted. Please NO SKATEBOARDS either.
Can I bring my pet? No. Service Animals only, please.
Can we bring lawn chairs? Sure! We only ask that chairs stay off the track, where the walk and roll will take place.
Is there a place to leave our bags and belongings? No. You are responsible for your personal belongings and any bags you bring with you.
