Let’s Runaway to a Waterfront Oasis!
May 13 @ 12:00 PM - May 15 @ 10:00 AM
Port Haywood, Eastern Shore. May 13-15. $225
Max: 6 people (3 spots left)
An outstanding and secluded getaway. You’ll love the sunrises, the sound of lapping waves, kayaking, walking down the beach to the lighthouse, bird watching, and sitting in the sun on the deck. Even in the house, it feels like you are floating on the water.
The house is incredible and has tons of toys! There is a good selection of kayaks, paddles, and multiple sizes of life jackets. The shed has a charcoal grill, several bicycles, kayak paddles and life vests, beach toys.
If you haven’t been to the area before, you are in for a real treat! New Point Comfort is largely a nature reserve and is along the Atlantic Flyway, so sealife and migrating birds abound.
Catch sunrise from the house since it faces East, and walk or ride bikes to the other side of the point (Down Lighthouse Rd) for spectacular sunsets in the West.
Kayak to the lighthouse, and keep an eye out for bottle nose dolphin! We sometimes paddle-board and kayak with them just in front of the house. Be sure to wear a life vest, the coast guard can fine $200 for not having one on.
Bike to Bavon beach access and walk south down the beach all the way around the point. The beach here is untouched and beautiful!
For foodies, we highly recommend Merrior Tasting Room (45 minutes away) for truly outstanding seafood and the Hole in the Wall for a casual meal.
Sleeping: 2 queens (sleeps 4), 2 loft twin beds
Food: Snacks and 1-2 light meals provided (think yummy charcuterie board and breakfast)
Giveaways: 2 Private Surf Lessons
Review: Highlights of our trip: lovely meals on the porch, kayaking in the bay, splashing around in the water, a 10 minute walk to catch the (spectacular) sunset looking out at the lighthouse, flying kites on Haven Beach, an amazing lunch at Merrior, and a visit to Irvington on our way back home.
