Professional Education Series: Beyond Picky Eating: An Integrated Nutrition

The presentation with be an informational and experiential learning opportunity for providers working with individuals with ARFID. It will include practical skills for properly diagnosing and effectively treating individuals from and integrated care perspective.

Ashley Hinds, RDN, LDN, CEDRD
Registered Dietitian, Center for Discovery
Ashley Hinds specializes in eating disorders and behavioral health nutrition. She works with the Center for Discovery Orlando outpatient team as well as running her own private practice. She has obtained the CEDRD certification, and an active member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). Ashley historically served on the board for the Orlando Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (OAND) as the Community and National Nutrition Month Chair. Ashley has extensive experience in behavioral health nutrition which includes training in all eating disorder diagnoses, mental health nutrition, pediatric nutrition with behavioral complications of autism and picky eating, ARFID, OCD which impacts food ritual and restrictions, and substance abuse. She completed her internship through the University of Kentucky. Thus far in her career, Ashley has been recognized for her excellence in dietetics as OAND’s Member of the Month April 2017, Kentucky Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Student of the Year, and Dietetic Student of the Year 2015 at the University of Kentucky
MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Certification in Integrated Health Care Systems, RMHI, Center for Discovery
Andrea Piazza graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is passionate about working with the previously underserved community of individuals with disordered eating. Prior to becoming a counselor with Center for Discovery Andrea served as a substance use counselor and therapeutic movement practitioner for individuals with special needs. She has worked as a psychotherapist in a multitude of settings throughout the Central Florida area. Programs include child, adolescent, and adult outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential substance use, and individuals with special needs.
Andrea uses a combination of trauma informed therapeutic approaches including client centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and therapeutic movement techniques. She has dedicated herself to providing effective individual, family, and group therapy to meet the needs of individuals and their support systems.
On a personal note, Andrea is a dancer by trade and often implements creativity into her work with clients. She enjoys being a movement artist, academic research, writing and spending time with her family.
