Day 4. I am so used to creating fun activities for autism families. This virus really made me think outside the box. When I had to cancel our huge Annual huge Easter Egg Hunt, I didn’t want to stop our community from “getting together.”

With a little brainstorming, I have two “events” that keep our autism families engaged and the kids active.

Bring Artwork to Life

Kids draw a character they like and one of my autism Mom’s is going to make a stuffed animal from their drawing!!! What’s really exciting is we still get to “meet.” I made a FB group for parents to talk about the process, take pics of their kids creating their inventions, submitting their kids drawings, and finally recording their kids reactions when they get their very customized creation. I’m so excited!

Nature Scavenger Hunt

This will get the kids outside (yay!) while look for items on the list and take photos of things they have found – a leaf, tennis courts, swing, tallest tree, etc. I’ll have a group for this event too where parents can share all their adventures and their kids photography skills. Everyone who participates will receive a large poster displaying their artwork. ♥️

Anyone else doing events similar? Please share ♥️ #nonprofit #autism #events #autismfamilies #community
