Magical Moments in the POOL

I had the opportunity to spread some autism awareness last night, with some of the big philanthropists in the Hampton Roads area.

The theme was “Magical Moments.”

“You see, one of the things that stuck with me the most from my readings shortly after my son’s diagnosis, was that the number one cause of death for individuals with autism is drowning.

Seeing Riggan in the pool, for the first time swimming on his own, displaying such good behavior, and indistinguishable from any other child out there, for me, that was a magical moment.

We’ll be forever thankful to the YMCA for providing that.”
