Do they like blankets? Having all the pillows on them at once? Yes? They are seeking sensory input. Touching the walls while walking can be grounding. Having all the blankets on them can make them feel secure. So, if your kid is on RED every day because they twirled in line, maybe they are craving stimulation. And that’s ok. Give it to them – help them center themselves. In our home, we have had everything from weighted blankets, scented pencils to swings. My kiddo still likes stimulation but doesn’t spin. Boy, could that kid spin!! But, the blankets? Pillows? Other sensory seeking behavior? Yep, all still present.
