We travel A LOT. Mostly road trips and boy we’ve had fun creating epic memories;) With two kids with special needs – one with Autism and the other with ADHD, it is imperative for us to explore different places, challenge ourselves to new – and sometimes scary- adventures. Push ourselves so they are able to face their fear and do it anyway.
The unforeseen benefit was it that taught our kids to “roll with it.” And now that they are teenagers, unexpected change is OKAY.
So, throughout the years we’ve been to Scottsville, Jellystone, the James River near the Buchanan Swinging Bridge and Skinny Dip Falls.
Scottsville – was one of our early adventures. Check out these babies…they were ready for some serious fun!
My niece had other plans…chilling on the river…
Jellystone near The Natural Bridge is a MUST
Definitely hit the Safari drive-thru zoo. We’ve been there a crazy amount of times! I think I like it better than the boys!!!
Jellystone is full of family fun activities including dipping your toes in the ice cold river and then plunging right in – talk about sensory heaven 😉
The James River has tons of places to go tubing 😉 We wanted to see the Buchanan Swinging Bridge, so we floated right to it 😉
Lastly…and this one is in North Carolina – Skinny Dip Falls. I couldn’t leave it out – because I actually jumped!!
